The initial group of seven shareholders had a vision of expanding their business across Pan Malaysia, leading them to choose the name "Pan" for their company. As some of these shareholders hailed from Penang, an island located on the western side of Peninsula Malaysia, they decided to add the word "West" to the name. Thus, the company was established as Pan-West.
